Conservatives Don't Like Declared Candidates

Susan Milligan of the Boston Globe reports that long-time conservative leader Richard Viguerie and others are not supporting any of the declared GOP candidates for president.  Viguerie said, "Not one of them deserves our support today."

From Bush to Paul

"Sabrin said he voted for Bush in 2004 because Bush had talked about a 'humble foreign policy' and no nation-building.

"Today, he favors Rep. Ron Paul of Texas for president in 2008."

A Ron Paul Fan

"I am a Ron Paul man myself, in case that wasn’t abundantly clear from my multiple posts stating this to be so, because there is no greater defender of the Constitution and no more honest man of integrity in federal office today.  Note those traits: honesty and integrity.  Consider which candidate is lacking in them, and then there should be no puzzle about why we hammer Romney as often as we do.  Ron Paul has amassed a record of principled small-government constitutionalism second to none, and he does not waver from those principles because it might bring him advantage or fame or plaudits.  Rep. Paul possesses a fidelity to old American republicanism that would be as foreign to Romney’s understanding as the French whom he apparently loathes so much."  Daniel Larson, 03/02/07

Real ID

"U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, a Texas Republican who has created a presidential exploratory committee, took aim at what he described as his colleagues' lack of respect for privacy rights and civil liberties. 'This is what has happened in Washington,' he said. 'There is no rule of law. There is no respect for the Constitution.'"  CNET News.com, 03/02/07

Foresight and Courage

When sweet deals were offered and arms were twisted to gather votes to pass the Medicare prescription drug bill in 2003, Congressman Ron Paul resisted both.  He knew then what people are beginning to admit now.

Ron Paul in New Hampshire

Congressman Ron Paul had an extremely successful trip to New Hampshire this last weekend.  On Friday morning, Feb. 23, WMUR-TV recorded an hour-long program with Dr. Paul.  The program is "Conversations with the Candidates."  Dr. Paul was questioned by WMUR's political editor for the first 30 minutes, and was then questioned by a studio audience for the second 30 minutes.  This series will feature all presidential candidates.

After leaving WMUR, Congressman Paul had lunch with the GOP state party chairman in Concord.  Former GOP State Senator Frank Sapareto gave Congressman Paul a tour of the historic New Hampshire capitol after lunch.  Congressman Paul was interviewed for the Lou Dobbs program to discuss the proposed North American Union in the afternoon followed by an interview on KIRO AM in Seattle.  That evening, the Alliance of Derry Taxpayers hosted Dr. Paul.

Saturday morning, radio host Al Kulas interviewed Dr. Paul.  After the interview, Congressman Paul met for breakfast in Manchester with leaders of several organizations such as pro-life, Second Amendment and anti-tax groups.  Dr. Paul then met with a second group for lunch in West Lebanon.

After the luncheon, Congressman Paul spoke at the SAE fraternity house at Dartmouth.  The students were very attentive and asked Dr. Paul a variety of questions.

A tremendous event took place Saturday night.  Over 150 people came to a fundraising reception at a private home in Pembroke, New Hampshire.  Those who attended gave Dr. Paul an extremely warm and enthusiastic reception, and a very generous one as well.  Several local political activists said the 150 number was "impressive."

Before heading back to Texas, Congressman Paul spoke to the Liberty Forum on Sunday morning.  The reception was tremendous.
